Leaving a Legacy

Leaving a legacy is one of the most powerful ways you can support the School. Even a small contribution can have a lasting impact, supporting ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ pupils and the continued development of the School long into the future.

A gift in your will

If you are considering leaving a legacy to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, please . Notifying us of your intentions enables us to recognise and celebrate your gift during your lifetime as well as ensuring that your wishes are accurately recorded.

“I have chosen to support ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ as an ongoing institution with roots in the past and aspirations for the future.”

Roger Argent (Kipling, 1964)

How will my legacy be used?

You can decide whether you would like your legacy to support the School broadly or go towards a specific purpose or part of the School that is meaningful to you.

Unrestricted

Unrestricted gifts give the School the greatest flexibility to allocate your support carefully to the areas of greatest need. Annual unrestricted support is crucial for the School’s financial health, enabling us to maintain a tradition of excellence by applying the funds flexibly to a variety of needs – both expected and unforeseen.

Specific Purpose

You may prefer to direct your legacy towards a specific purpose that is meaningful to you, for example, pupil bursaries, a specific House or department, or new equipment or facilities. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your plans with you before you commit them to a will, to ensure we can meet your wishes.

The Oak Circle

We are delighted to welcome all legacy pledgers to The Oak Circle, our legacy giving club recognising all those who have chosen to “plant a seed” with a gift to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ in their will.

Dedicate a Plant in Memory

Celebrate the life of a loved one, by dedicating a plant in their honour. Once a legacy gift has matured, families are invited to visit the School and choose a location that is meaningful. A wonderful way to remember a loved one, legacy plants become a lasting part of the School, making the campus greener and symbolising the sustainable nature of a legacy gift.

Please contact the Development Office to learn more about In Memory options including naming opportunities.

When making or updating your will we strongly recommend that you consult a solicitor to ensure it is legally valid and accurately reflects your intentions.

The Development Team would be delighted to speak to you about your legacy to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ. Please  email development@haileybury.com or call: +44 (0)1‌992 940 359 to speak with a member of the team.
